    iDreamSaver on Kickstarter

    iDreamSaver on Kickstarter

The iDreamSaver on Kickstarter promises to "Wake Intelligently", which we take to mean it will reach across at an appropriate time and apply gentle pressure to your shoulder while softly whispering your name and presenting you with coffee and the newspaper. Sadly it doesn't do this, but it does have a motion sensing infrared that wakes you when it detects a state of "light sleep" at any time during your pre-defined time window.

There looks to be some good attention to detail in this item such as the extended length charging cable and the micro-suction surface on the base of the device which aids one-handed docking and avoids slippage when operating the iPhone while docked. The guys behind it also appear to have excellent software and electrical engineering pedigree which should be an encouraging sign for would-be backers.

elago: the iPhone case of Super-Villians

elago: the iPhone case of Super-Villians

"Elago" could easilly pass as a name for a Spanish Bond super-villian, and indeed, this sleek and beautiful iPhone case wouldn't look out of place in the hands of a swarthy millionaire lunatic.

And as testament to your good taste, it bears an unmistakable resemblance to the rich corinthian leather1 mimicked in the skeuomorphic interface of the iPhone's Find my Friends app. Coincidence? I think not.

    1. Does anyone else think it an injustice that Ricardo Montalban didn't play the Bond villian in The Man with the Golden Gun? Nothing against Christopher Lee...

    The Glif from StudioNeat

    The Glif from StudioNeat

Further to our recent mention of the glif in relation to the olloclip, we think it timely to remind everyone that the glif is still perfectly compatible with that new iPhone 4S you just got for christmas.

Also works great with the Joby Gorillamobile.

    OlloClip

    OlloClip

The iPhone 4S has a great camera, but paired with the olloclip you have a pocket sized solution that includes macro, fisheye and wide-angle lenses. We heard about this from CES 2012, but we were also interested in John Gruber's comments in the latest Talk Show. He mentions liking it but also says he would like it more without the fisheye lens since it would be smaller and, after all, who is going to use a fisheye lens that often? We're inclined to agree, the fisheye lens is only good for those rare times when you want to simulate looking through a keyhole at a lolcat.

The olloclip got it's start through Kickstarter, and observant folk will notice that the iPhone in the photo above is mounted using the glif, which was another successful graduate of Kickstarter and another of our favourite things.
